Could you tell us about your journey to UCLA?
Applying to UCLA and getting in the program of my choice was both challenging and fulfilling. I had just graduated from law school in Brazil and I was already working for the law firm in which I'm currently a partner, so it took me a lot of planning and talking with my superiors to present this master's as an opportunity for both myself and the law firm.
Can you speak a little bit about your career and how it has progressed since graduating from UCLA?
I'd say there was a Vitoria before UCLA and there is now the Vitoria I am today. Attending UCLA can be an amazing experience not only for one's academic background but also for the social/networking opportunities it provides the students with. I've come back a much more confident professional, able to position myself as an authority of business law, and also a much more secure person, sensible to my client's causes and able to advise them with the best course of action in a given situation.
What would you say to a UCLA student who is planning on having an international career?
Explore everything UCLA has to offer you, from social and networking events to academic seminars. Dive into what other departments have to offer you and make an exercise of constantly putting yourself out of your comfort zone. Apart from the education itself, UCLA is an amazing diverse and multi-cultural environment where you can experience a lot of what should feel like to be an international professional.
